A native New Yorker, Jude Verley joined the Crosiers in 1964, first as a candidate for Crosier Brotherhood, then eventually studying for the priesthood, and was ordained in 1979.  

 

During his 56 years as a Crosier, Fr. Jude has lived and ministered in 10 different Crosier communities as a tailor, secretary, and cook during his brotherhood years, and for 35 years as pastor and associate pastor in Crosier parishes. In the last five years, living in Phoenix has provided Jude with opportunities to minister to the incarcerated, youth, and seniors as community liturgist, to provide assistance to parishes and various organizations, and to serve in internal leadership roles.  

 

Now after 41 years of priesthood, he enters a new ministry, that of spiritual direction. As one lives Crosier religious life, new ways of ministering to the people of God emerge. After 56 years, this proves to be the case over and over again.
