Fr. Stephan is originally from Anoka, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis. The 12th of 16 children, Fr. Stephan has 11 brothers and 4 sisters (his twin sister’s name is Stephanie).

 

He holds an Associate of Arts in Humanities, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Divinity. Fr. Stephan has been a spiritual directee himself since his first year of college. In 2007, he completed a program at the Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction in Tucson, Arizona, and has since served as a spiritual director for many people.

 

Fr. Stephan joined the Crosier Fathers and Brothers in 1986 and was ordained as a priest in 1992. He shares the Crosier mission to touch suffering with hope and his conviction is that in the midst of struggle and pain, God offers life and transformation. Crosier spirituality is that of the Glorious Cross, for in the Cross there is salvation.
