Nancy Hardy served as a Director of Faith Formation for a career that spanned some 44 years. She worked in parishes in Michigan and Arizona, and in the Diocese of Orange, California. She established the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in Arizona and California parishes, and worked at the CGS national office in Scottsdale following her retirement from full-time ministry. She received certification in Spiritual Direction, and remained supportive of this ministry for the remainder of her career. In 2019, she received the Doctor of Ministry degree from Boston University in Transformational Leadership. She was an enthusiastic supporter of Spiritual Direction Rising from its inception. Nancy developed a lung condition in mid-2019 which ultimately led to her death in September of that year.

Rick and Nancy met when they were hired — on the same day — at Immaculate Heart of Mary parish in Lansing, Michigan.  They were married in 1988.
